About
JollyByte Crafters is a small software architecture consultancy, founded in 2021. We work directly with technical leaders on the problems that matter most.
JollyByte Crafters is led by Boris Plotnikov - a hands-on software architect with over a decade of experience across games, 3D modeling, distributed cloud systems, and AI.
Boris studied architecture at the Technion and the Technical University of Munich before moving fully into software engineering. That unusual path - from physical buildings to software systems - shapes how we think about design: structurally, with an eye for how things hold together at scale.
Along the way, we've contributed to systems at companies later acquired by LinkedIn and Palo Alto Networks. Our work spans platform architecture, agentic AI, real-time IoT dashboards, CI/CD security, and technical due diligence for M&A.
You work directly with a senior architect - no layers, no overhead. Most of our clients are CTOs, VPs of Engineering, or technical founders navigating growth, complexity, or a specific technical bet.
Boris is an open-source contributor to Ladybug Tools and writes about software architecture and AI on Bits & Bias.
